In a closely contested Democratic primary for Hilliard City Council, incumbents Tina Cottone and Andy Teater, along with Kathy Parker-Jones and Nadia Rasul, advanced to the November general election. Seven Democrats competed for four nominations. The primary was notable for its diversity, with three Muslim candidates, including Dorothy Hassan, who believes she was the first Black Muslim woman to run for the council. Key issues included development and a controversy involving the Noor Islamic Cultural Center, which is suing the city after a zoning change denial. The four winners will face three Republicans for four council seats in November.
