Hilliard Welcomes Six New Interns for Hands-On Experience in City Departments

Source: Hoodline

The City of Hilliard has welcomed six new interns to gain practical experience across various city departments. These interns, primarily college students, are placed in roles within departments such as Human Resources, Engineering, Planning, Economic Development, and Information Technology. The internship program aims to provide hands-on learning, allowing participants to contribute to real-world projects like document digitization, traffic signal optimization, and updating city zoning codes. Hilliard’s initiative reflects a commitment to fostering professional growth, with some past interns securing full-time municipal roles. The program is competitive, with only six selected from nearly 60 applicants, and is partly funded through the Mid-Ohio Regional Planning Commission’s Local Government Internship Program.
